A good game with a bad ending.

I can’t complain.  This game had a little of everything.  I would have much preferred a win, and I would have rathered Youk not get hit by yet another pitch, but what are you going to do?

Sox are up 10.5 in the division and 12.5 over the Yankees.  Still a pretty nice view from there.

117 pitches from Beckett who left with the lead.  He deserved a better fate, but a no-decision is better than a loss for him and I’m pretty happy with the way the team battled.

Slappy gets the winning home run.  Fitting I suppose.  Doesn’t make him any less of a scum bag though, does it?

Yanks win yet another series and I suppose Yankees fans think we should be worried.  I can’t help thinking about what happened to the Yanks the last time they took the series from us.  Is this the, what, tenth time the Yankees have won a game that made people think "oh they’re back now!"?  Heh.

This loss sucked.  But to put it in perspective, would it have sucked this much if it wasn’t to the Yankees?

Yeah, it would.  I want them to win every series, regardless of who we play.

So I guess this team beating the Sox two out of three is akin to the Devil Rays kicking our butts.  I can live with that.   Now the team can focus on just playing baseball without the sideshow of it being against the Yankees.

Bring on Oakland.  Hope the boys get some rest onthat flight out there.
