Can’t sleep; Clown will eat me

openingdayjapan2008.jpgLet’s review.

Left work at 8pm. Got home a little after 8:30pm. Had plans to have a small dinner, take a shower, and go to bed.

It’s 11:27pm. I had a little something to eat and I took a shower. I’m IN bed, technically, but wide awake. I figure I’ll get in about four hours of sleep before the cab arrives in the morning at 5.

I keep reading Tru’s latest entry and wondering how I would have handled that. I sense not as well as he did. Good on you, Tru! Self-preservation is a wonderful thing! 😆

I am quite excited about tomorrow. Baseball is a tremendous comfort to me. When Red Sox games are over, I go to sleep to the sounds of some other game (usually a West Coast/National League team. Vin Scully is a human lullaby). It’s what keeps me centered when things go crazy and it’s what makes me happy during those same times. Only those who love the game “get it” so my apologies to those who don’t. Everyone has something. Some people knit, other people draw, I like to watch baseball. My “hobby” is no different from yours. As I said to my sister one night, there are people who watch reality television seven days a week – I prefer my reality tv to include people I care about watching, who are likable and worth watching. As with many other things, for this I make no apologies.

But I have to admit, I’d like to temper my excitement right now so I can get some sleep. I’m guessing I’ll be having a Red Bull or two tomorrow morning, so I should enjoy my non-existent heart palpitations while they aren’t here. 🙂

Hope you all get to catch the game! Here’s hoping Daisuke gets to impress his home crowd. I’m going to catch a few zzzs.
