Sleepy Seeds

Got word last night that Tru arrived in Japan safely. YAY! When he’s caught up on work (and sleep!), I hope he’ll be sending us another update. If you missed his first entry, I’ve created a page for the links to his pieces and you can find it above.

According to Rob Bradford, Mike Timlin, Sean Casey and Tim Wakefield will start the season NOT on the active roster and Josh Beckett is going on the DL Which means, for the next two games. Timlin, Casey and Wake won’t be in uniform. Going to Japan certainly has changed how Tito maneuvers the lineup. It’s be odd to see guys in the dugout NOT in uniform. (I wonder if they’re allowed in the dugout?)

In an effort to make my brain explode, my mortal enemy has a bit more information on the roster moves here. (You know what they say about blind squirrels.)

Unless plans change drastically, I’m meeting friends for the two Japan games. Which means I’ll probably have to leave my house around 4:30am and be in work a little late. Ah, what Sox fans do for their team! 🙂

Not sure how I missed this but it is, I believe, the first of this year’s “Gosh, Mike Timlin is old” stories. I love that he figures if things don’t work out this season he can just go home and ‘be dad”. But the implication that the injury he has is worse because of his age is a little silly given the type of injury it is.
I got up around 4:30am yesterday in anticipation of the exhibition game and by 8pm last night I was falling asleep standing up. So the next few days should be interesting. I might have to lift my self-imposed Red Bull ban to get through.

Incidentally, I’ve decided every game should be presented with the commentary in Japanese. Watching these last two games, I didn’t once think “Why do these guys still have a job?”!

Real baseball tomorrow folks. Bring it. (And bring some caffeine!)

Don’t forget, it isn’t too late to jump on the JD Drew bandwagon! (Of course, I’ll have beaten you to it by a year…)
