Hodge Podge

Dragging a little today, but wanted to put something up. Very happy about the Sox winning yesterday, obviously. Lester, Papi, Youkilis, Varitek…I didn’t see it, but I’m a happy gal nonetheless. Now off to Toronto and then back home!

Randomly:

* Tuesday, Tek knocked in what became the winning run. Yesterday, he hits a homerun. Behold the power of my Player of the Week “honor”. (Hopefully Kyle Snyder being the first one to have the honor this year bodes well for him long-term!)

* I forgot Bronson Arroyo was pitching last night, initially. I had planned on making it an early night. Instead, I turn on the tv. Bronson is winning. Moments later, “the wheels fall off” and Bronson gets taken out of the game after 5 innings – the pitcher of record and, now, losing. Bronson stinks and Lester prospers on the same day. God loves to mess with me.

* I will, sadly, not miss Bob Lobel in Boston. When the Patriots first won the Super Bowl, MOMENTS after, on the field, he decided to begin an interview with Drew Bledsoe by saying something like “Since you won’t be here next year…”. It was a cheap shot at a good guy and I respect Bledsoe for not punching him dead in the face even though he was obviously upset by Lobel’s words. I’m already tired of people in the media telling me how much I should miss Lobel. I won’t. I really, really won’t.

* Last night on YES, Paul O’Neill remarked (when they showed Melky’s curtain call) something like, that “doesn’t go over well on Opening Day”. Good for you for saying it, even if it was ignored by Michael Kay.

* Michael Kay yells in surprise every time a Yankee catches the ball. Is he that stunned that they know how to play ball?

* I listened to the game on EEI yesterday. My favorite tidbit that Joe Castiglione shared – Manny Delcarmen’s four month old son was very well-behaved on the trip to Japan. 😆

* I ordered hand and foot warmers yesterday in preparation for the three games I’ll be at next week. Have I mentioned that I’m going to the entire opening Series at Fenway? I’m sure I have. 😉 I’m quite happy about it. I’ll be happier when I’m less tired.

*  Edited to add CONGRATS to Youk for 194 errorless games!  A new record for first basemen.  Woot!

Sox get an off-day and I get to enjoy in the celebration of my sister’s birthday (happy birthday, camille!) without checking my cell phone for scores all night! 🙂 Win/win!
