Red Sox win? Check.
Yankees lose? Check.
PawSox win? Check.
Reds win? Hmm…not quite.
Hey, I’ll take three out of four (Sorry Bronson!)
Big Papi with 5 RBI. Jed Lowrie showing his stuff. The entire team getting at least one hit (except JD who still got on base).
(Daisuke is now the only Red Sox pitcher to have four wins before April 19th, says Hazel Mae.)
Would have been nice had I actually seen any of this but that’s okay. Both Kellys were at the game and they brought the good mojo! (This is three games this season that they’ve both been at Fenway at the same time and they’ve brought home three wins. Nicely done ladies.)
The crabby one who hates me* is pitching tomorrow night…so it really does work out well that I’ll be in Pawtucket. Maybe this not watching the games thing is the way to go for a couple of games?
Randomly, and not connected to baseball: There is a banner hanging from City Hall celebrating the Celtics being in the playoffs…yet there is no Bruins banner. I’m far from a big fan of hockey (The “Big Bad Bruins” of old were my speed. Give me Brad Park any day!) but the team really is being treated like a red-headed stepchild. There’s no reason ALL the Sox games that are aired at the same time as the Bruins playoffs games aren’t on the alternate channel. I don’t care how popular they are. How do you NOT air playoff games on your main channel? It’s April. NESN has, hopefully, six more months of baseball to air. It’s unfair to the Bruins fans out there. (Note: Tomorrow’s Sox game is on the alternate channel…good to know when you’re looking for it after 7:05pm!)
The Kyle jersey is cleaned and folded and will be brought to RI tomorrow. It might stay hidden in my bag all night – I’ll play that by ear. I’m truly excited just to be able to see Kyle and the other guys get their rings. (A text to me from Tru during opening day: “Is Kyle there or are you drinking gin?”) But I really hope the PawSox kick butt too. It’s always nice to see a win!
Because I saw very little baseball tonight, I’m now watching KC v Oakland (KC is winning – yay!). It’s the Kansas City feed and these guys are very enthusiastic. I like their attitude. Maybe they don’t cover the best team in the league, but they sure seem to be enjoying what they’re doing. You go!
I received a really funny email tonight from someone telling me that by focusing on Kyle and “neglecting” Bronson, I’m jinxing them both. (Ooh, the POWER!) I suspect the author was a Yankees fan…but in an effort to take the whammy off of poor, winless Bronson, I leave you with what are really funny or really annoying commercials. (I can’t decide. It still doesn’t sound like Bronson singing to me…but I have to admit that they makes me chuckle.)
Keep a look out for Bronson giving the camera “the look”. He needs to work on that on the mound. 😉

(Incidentally, KC is now losing. Jeez, maybe I AM a jinx?)
* Jon Lester doesn’t ‘hate’ me. He doesn’t even know me. He just pitches like he hates me. S’all I’m saying.
