I’m a fourth generation Sox fan…my parents went on their first date at Fenway Park…I was the only girl in grammar school who wore a Red Sox cap and owned a glove and in junior high one of my friends wrote in my autograph book "maybe someday you’ll own the Red Sox" (and I can’t forget how I snuck my Sox t-shirt to school on 8th grade picture day so I could change my blouse and wear it for pictures!). In 6th grade I wrote an essay about the person I most admired, and the subject was Fred Lynn.
So basically…I’m in this for the long haul. Any attempts to mock me or tell me I root for a loser will be met with laughter and contempt.
Don’t be jealous of me because I know what it is to be a real fan.
