Rally!

Tomorrow is "Rally Monday"!  I was at Fenway for "Rally Monday" last year, alas I won’t be there this year.  Lordy, I DO have a job and taking off in the middle of the day for 3 hours wouldn’t be good for my employment situation.

Besides…my bosses have already been insanely wonderful about my time off and early exits for actual games…don’t want to take advantage.  🙂

I wasn’t focussing on anything other than the Sox winning today, so I didn’t realize that their winning meant the Yanks would have to go to LA instead of LA coming to them.

That’s a nice little side dish.

How great was it to see Gabe Kapler in the locker room, getting doused with champagne by the guys???  Fresh off of surgery, he came back here to be with his team.  Keith Foulke just doesn’t get it.  Gabe does.

But since I can’t find a pic of Gabe getting soaked, here’s one of our captain!

Theo was on tonight saying this particular venture into the post-season was special because even though the Sox were in first place for the better part of the season, they had a lot of problems this season, and still they ended up with the same record as the Yankees…tied for first place at the end of the season.

And for the Yankees fans who call this a choke…lose Mariano Rivera for the better part of the  year and then tell me how the Red Sox didn’t have all that many problems.  Foulke may not have Rivera’s numbers, but he was as important to our team as Rivera is to yours…and we lost him, along with Schilling, for quite a while.

Yet…the Sox are still going to the post-season. 

So yes, I’m very happy right now.  Deliriously happy.  My boys are going to ChiTown…and I like their chances very much.

And finally, Tito gets to do what we all want to do to Big Papi!
