Yankee trolls have it! (Or,at least ONE does!) He sounds a lot like Umair, no? Commenting on things that haven’t been written. It’s only March and the trolls are coming out! It’s going to be a fun season!!
I had plans last night and I went to see "Zodiac" with a friend. Aside from the fact that I’m starting to believe Robert Graysmith is so obsessed he can’t see the forest for the trees, I loved the movie. The acting was great, the directing compelling and for the first time in probably forever, I walked the streets of Boston at night and alone and was a little creeped out. Good job.
BUT because I was there, I wasn’t anywhere near a television and didn’t see Daisuke’s ‘debut’ until late last night (nitpick here…if his name is PRONOUNCED Dice-K, why don’t they just write/type it the way it is spelled? Is Daisuke so much more difficult to spell out than Dice-K? Why are people so lazy? Oh, and it’s JACOBY Ellsbury people. Add the "Y", he’ll be happy you did and so will I. Sorry to digress.)
My first thought was ‘how cool for that kid who just hit a double off of him!". My second thought was, "please let that be the last hit one of the college kids gets off of him so we don’t have to read column after column about how Theo wasted Mr. Henry’s money. So, thanks for that God. 🙂
To be truly honest, I was more excited to hear that Kyle Snyder and Brendan Donnelly pitched well yesterday (Donnelly for the second time now). I am purposely tempering my Daisuke intake until the season is well underway. I think he’ll be a fine addition to the team (and, yes, Mr. Troll, not only am I excited he’s with our team, but I’m excited about the make up of the ENTIRE team) but I would prefer they didn’t try to turn him into the focal point of everything baseball this year.
Tonight is the Springing for a Cure dinner and auction, which means a good chunk of my friends are now in Ft Myers. I received many text messages yesterday with photos and stories of their exploits. I miss them all, but still am happy with my decision to stay in Boston and await my many trips to Fenway. I’ll get a chance to see most of them in July and/or August and it’ll be tough, but I can wait it out.
Have a great time sistahs and brothahs!
