Power to the People!

Okay, I should be writing about how pumped up I am after watching Josh Beckett, Javier Lopez, Kyle Snyder, JC Romero and Joel Pineiro pitch so well tonight.   And I AM pumped up about it!  As I am to see JD Drew NOT sucking and a career-making 3 error game by Mike Lowell NOT mattering!  Most of the team looked really good!  The entire game was enjoyable and non-anxiety bringing (if not a tad bit slow to end!).

It’s an exclamation pointy kind of night, I guess.  🙂

What makes me happiest at this moment, though, is the news about Extra Innings being carried by InDemand!

I mean, it’s only the second game of the season.  I’m happy at how well they played tonight but 2 games a season doesn’t make.

BUT thanks to, as far as I’m concerned, the fans not letting MLB stick it to them yet AGAIN, the fans won bigger than the Sox tonight.

No more gazing longingly at the Direct TV van and wondering if holding my ground was worth missing all the baseball I was going to miss.  No more contemplating purchasing MLB.tv even though that would be counter-productive to my protest.

According to a practically giddy customer service rep named "Eileen", who was nice enough to take my 11:30pm phone call, Comcast was told last Friday that it was definite that  they were losing Extra Innings, so all the ‘codes’ were taken out of the system.  Then tonight all the reps received an email close to 9pm telling them it was back on, but they wouldn’t be able to give it to customers until all the codes are put back into the system…they anticipate that happening on Friday, but Miss Eileen told me to try back tomorrow as she suspects they are going to put the gas on for this.

Along with how  much I really enjoy watching as much baseball as possible, I have so many friends out of the viewing area of their favorite team (Red Sox or otherwise) who will be affected by this decision.

Dish Network customers are still on hold, though, as MLB is "still negotiating" with them.  Good luck with that, folks.

All in all, a pretty damn good night!
