Explain this to me like I’m a seven year-old

Your team is up by two in the sixth inning and one of your players hits a two-run home run.

Why is this a cause for a curtain call?

This is the second time this week fans have given a curtain call to a player who hit a home run when their team was already up by two.

Are curtain calls just a natural extension of a home run trot now?

I think it’s embarrassing that they’re being done for every little thing now and will be humiliated for the fan base if the Red Sox fans start doing this shit at Fenway this year.

(I suppose it doesn’t help my mood that the player in question tonight is Sammy Sosa.   As long as the cheaters are allowed to keep playing, I guess the fans are going to keep supporting them, eh?)
