John (in comments) is right and I shouldn’t be so negative. I’ve, pretty much, totally ignored JD Drew since his signing and I have to admit, he’s hustled in the field (just ask Mike Lowell) and he’s smacking the ball around (he’s batting .391).
And Schilling really looked great last night. So much so, that Jon Miller and Joe Morgan expected him to pitch the 8th (maybe he should have!).
I was actually concerned that Papelbon wasn’t going to have ‘it’ this season. But his, already, two saves have erased those worries.
I don’t love the Sox coming home with a 3-3 record, but it beats the heck out of them coming home with an 0-6 record, doesn’t it?
(And a shout out to Kevin Millar: Yankee Killer! Nice to see that some things haven’t changed!)
Easter Sunday wore me out (it was a great, but long, day) so today will be a long, tiring day. It’ll all be worth it when I’m settled into my seat on Tuesday so witness Josh Beckett’s first pitch at Fenway this year!
