Don’t be sad, Daisuke!
Well, Daisuke pitched an amazing game.  10 strikeouts, 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs in 6 innings.  He’s definitely showing us something in his first three appearances.  I mentioned in the live blog that he’s the first player since Fernando Valenzuela to have 10 or more strikeouts in two of his first 3 major league games.  That’s impressive.  And he accomplished this against a red-hot Toronto team.  I’m very happy with him thus far.

My player of the week had two hits last night and so did Wily Mo.  Unfortunately, those four hits (including a home run by Pena) were the bulk of the offense last night.  (Manny, Tek and Mike Lowell each connected for a hit as well.)

Chacin pitched a great game and it’s only their second loss in six games, so I’m not ‘worried’.  But I am ANNOYED that they’ve sat on their hands for two games in a row that Daisuke pitched.  That has to stop.  Now would be a good time for that.

Wake on the mound tonight against Tomo Ohka.  If the bats can come alive again, I like our chances.
