…we could be Reds fans. :-/ (Poor Bronson!)
I’d say four losses in a row is definitely a slump. I wouldn’t mind so much (hell, a 9 game lead is still a decent lead – no shame in that), except that these last two games, our pitchers pitched well enough to win and didn’t.
Actually, going back and looking at the standings, I’m suddenly less upset than I was ten minutes ago. Seriously. If the team is going to hit a skid, let them do it while they have some padding. Slumps happen. They’ve already taken great advantage of the shortcomings of the rest of the American League East. A few lost games aren’t that big a deal at this point.
I was worried, tonight, that the losing would affect the clubhouse, but based on what they showed of the dugout tonight, those worries were unfounded. This team seems to be as close while they lose as they are when they’re winning. That gives me hope that this ‘slump’ won’t last too long.
Still, you deserved better, Timmy. Thanks for a great outing!
I usually don’t watch post-game stuff the night of a loss…especially this late…but I’ll be interested to hear Tito tell us what the idiot home plate umpire said to him to get him so fired up. Based on Tito’s reaction, it had to be pretty bad. Thinking on it, I’m wondering if they’ll even show any interviews tonight, probably not, huh?
Oh well. Bad series. Tomorrow is an early game and a travel day. Here’s hoping Schill will be the stopper…I think he will!
