I enjoy watching the National League…but not during interleague play. I hate it.
Oh well. D’Backs are coming off a "heart-breaking", extra-innings loss and the Sox are coming off Curt’s brilliant one-hitter. Let’s hope both games started a trend for each team!
David Ortiz claims he didn’t know Curt had a no-hitter going until the ninth inning. Too cute. I’m watching Sports Desk right now and it seems like the Oakland fans (not just the ones in Sox gear) were great when Stewart got that hit. Nicely done.
I wouldn’t complain if the A’s fans acted happier about Schilling losing the no-hitter. No one was happier than me the day Carl Everett broke up Mike Mussina’s no-hitter at Fenway. It’s part of the game. I DON’T expect the local media to be the asses, though. According to Amalie Benjamin, a sports radio guy named "Kevin the Rat" asked this of Shannon Stewart, in regard to breaking up Curt’s no-hitter: "He’s not well-liked by a certain amount of people, either. I’m sure there are some people in your dugout that were real happy to see that."
Stewart was classy (and smart) enough to not feed into this idiot’s line of thinking. But the guy kept it up with Mark Kotsay by telling him many in the press box were rooting against Schilling, to which Kotsay had no response.
Sad when the media has to try and stir things up just to cause controversy. Was "Kevin the Rat" trained in New York or Boston?
He was drafted yesterday by the Cleveland Indians! A very happy day in the Mills family (and the Red Sox family as well!).
Josh is on the mound tonight. He pitched well enough on Sunday to get his ninth win, but it wasn’t to be.
Let’ get him number nine tonight fellas!
