Jose Capellan takes the mound for the Spinners
Man, second time in a row that my newly-appointed "player of the week" makes an error on his first night as such.  I’ll have to work on that!  🙂

Not that I blame him for the loss.  No I leave that squarely on the shoulders of Eric Gagne and Tito Francona.  Once again, Tito manages himself out of a win by refusing to acknowledge in enough time that his pitcher needs to be pulled.  (And what happened to Okajima, Gagne, Papelbon?  What was Gagne doing out there before Okajima And against two lefties??????)

Michael Bowden is in for the Sea Dogs
Haven’t read anything about the game, haven’t watched any post-game stuff.  I have the "Futures at Fenway" double-header today, with Kelly and our sistah Soxcruiser.  Nothing but good vibes and happy baseball feelings that even last night’s loss can’t erase.  Today we’ll be watching the kids play a child’s game.  The highlight of this event for many of us last year was getting to see how excited the players were to be at Fenway. They were taking pictures of themselves in the Green Monster, horsing around in the outfield, just generally having a great time.  Watching them is a great reminder that it’s only a game and it isn’t the end of the world when you lose.

So take heart Red Sox Nation, last night was stinky but there’s still a lot of ball to be played.  And the Sox?  They still have the best record in MLB and are still five games ahead in the division.  So they lost a game.  They way they lost it sucked, but they’ll bounce back.

They’re a good team who had a bad night.  No sense harping on a bad ending when we have so much more to look forward to.
