We should focus on Buchholz not Gagne, but we won’t.

One of the better pictures I took yesterday

Congratulations to Clay Buccholz on his first MLB win (in his first MLB start!)!  I’m so happy that I was there to see it in person (thank you so much, Pam!  I had a great time with you as always!!!)!  Even losing the second game didn’t take the shine off of that win for me.

I refuse to dwell on Eric Gagne.  We all know he has been sucking and he has pretty much single handedly lost three games for the Sox.  No need to dwell on the negative and obvious.  (Although I must say I was disappointed that he didn’t have the stones to meet with the media last night.  Normally, players who don’t talk to reporters doesn’t bother me at all, but when you have something to answer for and you don’t, well to me that doesn’t say much about you.  Maybe he’s just so upset that he didn’t want to rehash it, but he could have said that and then asked the reporters to bug off instead of sneaking out.  It saddens me, because I was willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt.  Now I worry that if Tito keeps trotting him out there, he’ll be the sole reason the Sox don’t make the playoffs, and I’ve NEVER felt that way about any individual player.)

So much for me not commenting on Gagne.  🙂

Yesterday, for the most part, was an amazing day at the park!  I was with great friends and the first game was one to be remembered a long time.  I’m one of those people who usually writes off half a double-header.  So it was tough to see Gagne blow another game, but not devastating to me.  I figured one of those games would be a loss.  I’m more sorry for Beckett than anything else.  He pitched a great game and his teammates waited much too long to put runs on the board.  And then Gagne…

Sox are still up five games and I still feel great about the team, well except for Gagne, so we’ll see how much Tito decides to torture us with him.

Schilling is on the mound tonight.  I hope the entire team went out last night and got drunk and uses the day to sleep it off, coming back tonight to pound the Angels into submission.  (There’s a phrase you don’t often see!)

Enough of sending the bad energy to Gagne.  (Incidentally, I hope the asshole who threw the full bottle on to the field and was tackled by security got arrested.  To the credit of the fans present, many were more pissed about that than they were what Gagne did.)  We need to focus on sending the good energy to Schilling and the rest of the team!

7:05pm boys – let’s get this thing done!!!
