Sox split with the Angels. Winning the series would have been nice, but I’ll take the split. The sting of being at Fenway, seeing them lose in person yesterday was lessened by watching the game from a luxury suite. Something I’ve not done before. Thanks, again, to Kelly for being such a gracious hostess. We had a great time even if the ‘Rally Sundae Caps’ didn’t work!
Bobby Kielty (he pronounces it "Kelty", how did I not know this until he told Tina Cervasio?) sure knows how to make an entrance, eh? A couple of hits, an amazing catch that saved some runs. Nice way to ingratiate yourself with the Nation!
And, no, I didn’t boo Eric Gagne yesterday. As a matter of fact, I did just the opposite. He put two on, but at least he didn’t give up any runs. And Julian Tavarez did an admirable job with his spot start. This "one night the pitching is bad and the bats are hot, the next the pitching is great and the bats are cold" stuff is going to kill me before the season is over.
But, fear not Nation, Dustin Pedroia wants us to know all is well:
"I don’t really care about people’s nerves, We still have a four-game lead (on the Yankees). Why wouldn’t we be confident? We have the best record in baseball. (Ease) off the panic button a little bit."
Indeed, Dustin, indeed.
Sox play Tampa Bay tonight with Wake on the mound, this has to be the start of something good. Right?
