Joba the Hutt got suspended for two games and fined $1000. Let’s see, under the ridiculous rules set for Joba, since he came in for two innings against the Sox, Torre would be sitting him for two days. So the two-day suspension means nothing. And $1000? I’m sure the Fat Unctuous Toad (er, Roger Clemens, thanks SGers!) will gladly pay that for him.
Yet, Yankees fans across the board are bitching and moaning about it. Maybe someday they’ll learn that if you throw at someone’s head, especially twice in a row, there are consequences. But, based on what I’ve read, I think that concept is a little tough for them to grasp.
Based on the emails and comments I’ve received this week, by the way, the gloves are off. The Yankees fans can all go jump in a lake and never come up and I’m not tempering what I write just because it might offend one of them.
The Sox lost a tough one last night, but showed a lot of fight, especially in the midst of players being banged up all over the place. The Yankees, on the other hand, got out-pitched and out-hit by the Devil Rays.
Guess that would make any Yankees fan a little cranky.
