Mi papi grande es tu papi grande

The photo I took just before Papi hit his walk-off!

I had a handful of friends at the game yesterday.  None of us sat together, but we were all there for the entire thing.  KellyJ, Dori, Cindy & CJ were the ones I know of.  Maybe there were others there. I love knowing some of my friends were there as well!  The game ended amazingly!

CJ and Dori were both at another game that I was at earlier this season.  Jon Lester’s return to Fenway.  Against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on August 15th.   Unlike last night, Jon pitched well that night but left in the seventh behind.  Eric Gagne ended up getting the win thanks to non-home run, walk-off magic.

So, apparently, CJ, Dori, Jon Lester and I have the right mojo to get the Sox a walk-off win!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Way to go folks!

It would be a travesty to not mention Julian Tavarez.  As bad as Jon was last night, and he was, Tavarez was amazing.  ONCE AGAIN coming through when the fans and the team need him!  Thank you, Julian!  (And shout outs to Delcarmen and Okajima as well!)

The guy next to me told me in the 9th that it was time for Papelbon to get his first win of the season.  I guess Papi agreed.  ๐Ÿ™‚

JD’s stats before his last at-bat (a walk) last night

JD Drew got on base four times last night, with two hits and two walks.  I actually got some people around me to cheer for him at each at-bat (and, unfortunately, there were some people giving us grief for that!), and I heard a "JD" chant go through the park.  Maybe some people ARE listening to their captain

The only sour spot of last night is that I lost my cell phone on the way home.  So I was a little annoyed last night, less so now.  Incidentally, if you have MY cell phone number, do me a favor and email me YOUR cell phone number.  I stupidly keep my phonebook in my cell phone (which I’ve had temporarily turned off) and if I don’t retrieve the phone this morning, I’m going to need to build the phone book back up!  ๐Ÿ™

But even that didn’t get me too down.  Sox won another series – in huge fashion – and I was there to see it.  I’m very happy.  Once again, Big Papi comes through.  It’s been a while, but it was fabulous to see!

Speaking of seeing it, the video is  a little shaky, but I love it and am SO happy to have been able to get it!  Sox go wild, fans go wild, it was a great night!!!

Big Papi Walk Off

I love that, to start the vid, I got the ump giving the home run sign!
