It isn’t denial, it’s diversion

Because of varying things in my life, I only watched about half the game tonight.  Went in not caring if they won, ended annoyed that they lost, and even more annoyed that NESN keeps talking about the playoffs as if they are a foregone conclusion.  The way the Sox have played these last four games and NESN has the audacity to talk about the post-season?  The ‘magic number’ for the post-season is 3 games and the division is 9.  The way they’re playing right now, well, I’m not taking anything for granted.

Luckily, the Red Sox are only about the third suckiest thing in my life right now so I’m not dwelling on this too much.  But since I think it only fair to update the blog daily, here I am.  Currently, watching "Alice, Sweet Alice" as a diversionary tactic from everything else going on.  I’m flashing back to the days when my parents would take us to the drive in every Saturday night and watch truly bad B-movies.  I can remember being terrified by this film when I was 10.  Now it’s just filling a void that another night of insomnia creates.

Not that they deserve it, but the Sox get an off-day tomorrow and then they spend three days in Florida.  Yay.  Playing another team that sucks all season long and then plays the Sox like it’s the World Series. I want the Sox to pile on this weekend.  I want the Devil Rays left bloodied and battered.  I want Beckett to get his 20th win, Matsuzaka to settle down and Wakefield to revert to form.

I also want to see Manny, Youk and Coco back in the lineup.

Blood, boys.  Go for the jugular.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
