In 2004, I didn’t go to the parade. There were many reasons behind it but, ultimately, I think the reason I stayed home was because I needed to take it all in alone. I curled up on a couch and watched the entire thing alone and, admittedly, cried all day. It was very emotional. (As a matter of fact, as I’m typing this NESN is airing "Faith Rewarded" the film about the 2004 team and I’m crying. There will never be another win like the 2004 win!) But where 2004 was all emotion and remembering the folks who either didn’t live to see it or DID live to see it and never thought they would (like my dad!) the 2007 win is all about the celebration.
We get to celebrate that our team is the best and that this team isn’t a fluke. And it’s a damn fine feeling I wanted to share with my friends and other members of Red Sox Nation. 🙂
So here we go:
The first two police officers to lead the parade…the crowd went wild for them!
Tom Werner and Larry Lucchino with ‘the’ trophy
The parade has just started and John Henry is already thirsty!
We were on the wrong side to see JPB or Wake, but we did get Curt!
Ladies and gentlemen, your 2007 American League Rookie of the Year (if there is any justice!)
Dustin with Eric Hinske
Daisuke looked very happy!
Here is Kyle just before the bullpen guys got his attention and he turned his camera on us!
Incidentally, if you were at the parade and got any pictures of Kyle…I’d love to see them!
Javier Lopez points us out to Kyle!
(You can see Kyle’s video camera peeking up to tape us to the right of the photo)
Kyle still shooting, bullpen guys still pointing…and someone’s SO (on the left) videotaping us!
