While we’re saying ‘hello’ to Sean Casey and ‘welcome back’ to Bobby Kielty, we also have to say "good bye and good luck’ to Eric Hinske.
Hinske signed a minor-league deal with the Tampa Bay (don’t call us "Devil") Rays. I’m sad there wasn’t a place on the Sox for him but pleased he got a deal SOMEWHERE in time for Spring Training. Hinske might not have been the best player on the team last year, but he certainly was one or the more enthusiastic guys on the team (and I was there with Dale to see him plant his face in center field making a spectacular catch and then turning around and saving Schilling’s cheese with a home run. Both of which you can see here. One of the most fun games I went to all season!)
Good luck, Eric and thanks for the memories!
Truck Day is this Saturday. According to various reports, the trucks will be pulling out around 10am.
Can you smell it, folks? Spring is just around the corner!
