Back to Baseball

Randomly:

* Ouch! (Times two!) – Bobby Kielty had surgery on his ‘sore’ hand yesterday and it’ll keep him out for 4-6 weeks. Jeff Natale, called up from Portland, fractured his left forearm this past Monday when he was hit by a pitch (did I saw “OW” yet?), is schedule for surgery on Monday. Flu in Boston, surgeries in Pawtucket, can we stick Kyle in a plastic bubble for a week or two, just to be on the safe side?

* Watching the Yankees game last night I fell asleep RIGHT after Joba Chamberlain got AJ Pierzynski to fly out in the ninth. So I missed all the fun.

* If you need your Mike Lowell fix, don’t forget he’ll be playing in Pawtucket tonight (and in Buffalo on Saturday and Sunday).

* I haven’t been able to find it anywhere, but if my addition is correct and they don’t mess with the rotation, Kyle should be starting in Buffalo on Saturday. [Edit: Anna points out in the comments that the PawSox site says Sunday. Don’t know how I missed it!] I don’t have tickets to any Sox games now until a couple of weeks into May. When things get less hectic in my life, I might just take that train ride to Pawtucket again to enjoy the park and the team and hopefully see Kyle pitch to help get my mind off things.

* I really don’t think enough good things can be said about Justin Masterson’s debut yesterday. I’m so happy he did well. And although it stinks that the bullpen couldn’t hold the lead, it happens. I’m sure Justin has a few more good outings in him before his career is over. 😉

I need something to make me smile today and this always does the trick (Miss Madison, circa 2006) I love being an aunt!!:[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_mFrj9QnVc&hl=en]
