Long weekend coming up (woo!) and a trip to Pawtucket is as well. On Monday (Memorial Day), I’ll be hitting McCoy with KellyO. I thought there might be a chance I’d see Justin Masterson pitch, but with the rotation changing to accommodate Clay Buchholz pitching there on Sunday, I’m not sure now. It might be Charlie Zink. (Which is okay too. I like Zink – he’s a knuckleballer who’s doing really well this season!) In any event, I’m hoping Kyle is off the DL and gets some time in. Kelly suggested that he might be doing some relief work as he comes back from his groin injury. That would give us a better chance of seeing him pitch (it’s all about ME!). 🙂
But the real road trip begins a week from today. I’ll be heading to Baltimore for three out of the four games the Sox will be playing at Camden. Much like my Baltimore trip last year, I’ll be meeting friends (just not as many, I don’t think) and I’m really looking forward to it! I need to update my calendar here, though, because it doesn’t reflect my games properly. I canceled my tentative plans to go to Cincinnati to stay here and party with the sistahs! And there are a few more Pawtucket games that I’ll be going to. I’m probably not going to be at Fenway as much as I was last year, but with Pawtucket so close by (and less expensive!) I’ll be getting my live baseball fixes in!
The day I write about the Sox pitchers doing well – they all kind of stink up the joint and STILL get the win! A homestand sweep – capped off by two grand slams! I’ll take it. Now the Sox are on the west coast and their first stop is Oakland.
10:05 tonight. Be there to watch Tim Wakefield make it eight in a row!
