That was suckish

Taken by me last night.   The Frisbee catching dog is a big hit.

I’m not sure things could have sucked MORE yesterday.  Sox blow it in the ninth (but, really, if you have to wait until the 9th to even score a run, well it wasn’t looking good for you anyway) even though Masterson pitched well his first time on the mound in the Bronx.

Clay got knocked around a little in Pawtucket.  (A team that also mounted a 9th inning rally and fell short.)

But worst of all:

Kyle wasn’t in Lowell. 🙁

We got there and Stolmy Pimental’s name is on the lineup as being the starting pitcher.  This vexed us for a moment until we decided Kyle must be just pitching an inning or two during the game.  To make a long, uninteresting story short – he wasn’t.

The Spinners won the game – which was nice and, admittedly, fun, but Kyle was nowhere to be found.  Of course we wondered:  “Did he re-injure himself when he pitched the other day?”  (Not that we’d know from the ‘reports’ about it!)  “Were there storms in Florida that grounded his plane?”  “Maybe he was hung over from celebrating the Fourth of July and missed his plane altogether?”  “Did he just say ‘Fuck it I’m staying in Florida!”?”

The Spinners site is of no help.  There’s no trace of the notice they put up on the 3rd announcing him as last night’s pitcher.  (See, this is why I screen grab whenever possible…for proof of things others try to pretend didn’t exist!)  I emailed the Spinners (and don’t expect a response) and am contemplating emailing Amalie Benjamin (but fear two things:  that she won’t get back to me for a couple of weeks and that when she does she’ll not have even known Kyle was supposed to pitch in Lowell.).   Grrr.

Well, here’s hoping Kyle’s all right and that he’s back up here pitching SOMEWHERE soon.   (And for anyone who, for whatever reasons, might have info on how Kyle is, throw me a bone, eh?  Let me know in email.  I’m very discreet! 🙂 I just want to know how the guy is doing with his rehabbing.)

I hate when the BoSox lose and then don’t play until late in the day.  4pm game loss to an 8pm ESPN game?  Ugh.  But, I’m not as bugged by the loss as maybe I would be had I actually seen it.  I’ll be happy with their winning the series.  The rest has to work itself out as the Rays have now won their 382nd game in a row (okay, it’s only their 6th in a row, but yow!).

Wake v Joba tonight.  We have to listen to Joe Morgan for 3 hours, the least the Sox could do is knock Chamberlain around to make it worthwhile.

FAKE EDIT:  As I was writing this, the fella I emailed at the Lowell Spinners responded to my email from last night.  (Shame on me for not having more faith that he would!)  Apparently, they found out around 3pm that he would not be there “due to a travel delay”.  Which is totally frustrating, but good to know he didn’t blow an Achilles tendon or something.   I’m thoroughly disappointed that we didn’t get to see Kyle pitch, but at least he isn’t re-injured.
