I took this photo of Kyle in May 2008 – and I’m very fond of it!
Weekly, that’s a laugh. It’s like Kyle has been swept into the Witness Relocation Program and there’s a conspiracy to hide any information about his rehabbing progress from me.  I try to make it weekly at the least. Sometimes I get no cooperation.
Thanks to KellyO for the heads up that he pitched in another GCL game this week. So that’s two rehab outings in Florida thus far.
So I’ll tell you what Amalie Benjamin won’t. Â As I noted before, in his first outing “Kyle faced three batters and struck out the first two – one looking and one swinging – and got the third batter to ground out“.
This past Tuesday, Kyle also pitched one inning and faced four batters. He gave up a single and a stolen base and got three ground-outs.
Not exactly stellar reporting by me, admittedly, but I’m getting my info from MiLB.com…Amalie and others of her ilk have better ways of obtaining their info, yet choose to not utilize them (or share with us).
I’m somewhat fascinated that he’s still in Florida. I suppose the Spinners’ schedule might have something to do with keeping him down there to get his work in but I guess it’s also possible that Kyle just said “Fuck it, I’m staying home until I’m healthy!”.
That’s what I’d do. Mind you, I’m probably a wee bit more cantankerous than Kyle is.  🙂
Not that I even know if he’d have that option. Five years (roughly) in the bigs must get you SOME perks, no? Probably not, huh?
My next live ball games are both at Lowell near the end of the month (the 22nd and 24th to be exact). Maybe the baseball Gods have something interesting in store for the SG crew heading to Lowell on the 22nd?
Positive vibes and good thoughts, as always, sent out to Kyle. I imagine he could use all he can get right about now.  Hang in there, Kyle. Things will only get better!
