No way what happened in the ninth inning is the reason the Sox lost tonight, but it doesn’t help when the opposing team obviously has the home plate ump on their side. (Edited to add the bolding in this sentence seems that point seems to be lost on some cranky Yankees fans. Why would Yankees fans be cranky? Their team won the game. I don’t get it.)
Would have been nice if our batters didn’t make Joba look like Cy Young, but if I take anything positive out of tonight’s game – I’m going with the pitching. Good job with the pitching.
One thing I’m pissed about…Jason Varitek not sacrificing with Lowrie on first. You’re down by one and the guy at bat is in a tremendous slump and you don’t make him sacrifice? I don’t care how long he’s been in the league. I don’t care if he’s he Captain. He’s sucking up all over the park…make him friggin’ sacrifice. Tito’s on my last nerve with the way he’s handling Tek.
Two more games and I’m confident the Sox will come out swinging tomorrow night. Truthfully, I’m hoping for some fireworks that don’t get anyone hurt. Youk needs to make someone pay. And Mike Lowell is hot after the bullshit call in the ninth. These guys better bring that attitude with them to the park tomorrow.
