This might end up being added to, but so far I’ve already heard one thing on ESPN’s coverage tonight that I knew was wrong.
Mind you, I had to look it up to be sure, but I did look it up. It just sounded wrong and, what do you know, it WAS wrong.
Orel Hershiser said that Jacoby Ellsbury has played more left field than center field this year.
Really, Orel? Let’s look it up:
According to ESPN.com, this year Jacoby has had 140 at -bats while playing left field. How many at-bats while in center field? 164.
That’s 24 more games (or appearances, really) in center field than in left field.
Don’t they have laptops in the ESPN booth?
