I kill me.
I was a bit bummed about yesterday’s loss. Until I realized that the Sox play another game in Chicago tonight. So, if they can split the series, I’ll be happy.  It’s amazing what a little perspective will do for you.
I also didn’t realize that I wanted the Dodgers to lose until I was watching the last two games of theirs against the Giants – where the Giants won with walk-off hits it each of them. So, yeah, I can be bitter. Sue me. 🙂
Freaked a little when I heard about Wake going to the DL and then thought “Better now than in September or October”. So I reserve the right to freak out later but I’m not going that route just yet.
Oh Clay. I wish I knew what to write about Clay. I still have high hopes for the kid. But high hopes don’t get you wins in the middle of a pennant race.
Edgar Martinez is starting in Pawtucket this afternoon. Colon pitched yesterday and Michael Bowden hasn’t taken the mound yet. Best guess is that they’re saving him to pitch in Devern Hansack’s slot tomorrow and Hansack will be up to pitch in Wake’s place at Fenway tomorrow night.  I don’t think people should fret over the pitching situation here just yet. We have a few good options in AAA right now and, I believe, a little wiggle room on the 40-man roster. So let’s just sit back and enjoy what we might be seeing over the next couple of weeks.
Beckett on the mound tonight…and if they don’t mess with the rotation, I’ll be seeing Crabcakes in person on Wednesday.
Now if we can just get the rain the hell out of town!
