Dear God:
I know it’s been a while, but I figured now was as good a time as any.
Sure there’s war and disease and “Survivor”. These are terrible things you allow to continue and I should probably focus my attentions on asking you to take care of them.
But I’m not.
I’m asking you to not let Tim Wakefield suck tonight. That’s all.
See? He’s a good man, God. Generous with his time and money and always helping others. Throw the guy a bone, wontcha?I fully believe the offense and defense can take care of themselves, but Timmy’s getting up there and he didn’t exactly light fires the last month of the season. My guy is sore and tired and did I mention OLD? He needs all the help he can get and he needs to know that even though he’s ‘old’, he’s still useful. He’s still a big part of this team.
And we need a win. We need to know the team isn’t going to go down in flames without giving it a good fight.
We also need all the naysayers against starting Wake tonight to get served a big cup of STFU.
But mostly we need the win.
Although, that isn’t what I’m praying for. I’m praying for Wake to not suck. The rest will take care of itself.
Oh, and Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner both getting the runs at around 8:10 tonight would be good too.
Thanks a heap!
Your humble servant,
RSC
