The holidays are over and I’ve paid my bills. So the next time I get paid, I have some money to spend. I love to spend money. Especially if I can do it without leaving the house. Let’s see what is out there, waiting for me to buy.
This is a photo of the waistband to a pair of "Game Used Post Season and World Series" pants that used to belong to my man Mike Timlin. I can buy them on eBay (and not even pay for them for 90 Days!).
Just think of all the things I can do with a pair of Mike Timlin’s used baseball pants.
Well, I actually can’t think of ANYTHING I could do with a pair of Mike Timlin’s used baseball pants, but they’d sure be a hell of a conversation piece. Of course, anyone I showed them to would probably end up calling the cops, convinced the only way I could get them was to have kidnapped Mike and locked him in my basement. Then the police would come, my neighbors would gawk and it would be a big thing. Forget it. I don’t want them.
Also on ebay, going for a lot less than the Timlin drawers, is a "Got Snyder" t-shirt. Now, my appreciation for Kyle is well documented, but are we to believe that there are fans of other teams who are pissed that we have him on our team? Are Royals fans shaking their fists at the television set every time he takes the mound? And even it there ARE fans out there who aren’t cheering for Boston yet want Kyle on their tem, are they worth taunting with a "Got Snyder" t-shirt? My money is probably best spent on a "Jeter Drinks Wine Coolers" t-shirt.
But here is, truly, and item you can’t do without. The person selling it explains it much better than I could:
You are bidding on an awesome rare BOSTON RED SOX USED 2004 FENWAY PARK GATE PIECE! Gate "D" to be exact. Right after the Red Sox won the World Series, this gate was replaced and the old one was thrown in the trash! My source jumped in and helped himself. I am offering you an (inexpensive) piece of history! A piece of Fenway Park from 2004. Be a hero and put this under the tree for that special Red Sox fan. Not may of these around.
I don’t imagine there would be "many of these around". Although this seller DOES have another one hanging around – with Mike Timlin’s autograph on it. How do you explain THAT one? "Nope, I’m not going to sell this on eBay, Mr. Timlin. I just collect scrap metal with baseball player’s autographs on them!".
On second thought, the gate auctions have inspired me. I think I’ll wait on any purchases until I see a Gabe Kapler autograph on a mirror taken out of a Fenway Park ladies room. Hey, it could happen.
