Come back, baby!

What a weekend – thus far!

For many of us in the Boston area, today is a holiday: Patriots’ Day. It’s also known as Marathon Monday.

So there will be many, many people crowding the streets of Boston because they aren’t at work and they’ll be going to the 11am game at Fenway or lining the streets to cheer on the runners in the Boston Marathon. It’s always a great day here.

I scored a ticket to the game, which means I was up roughly at the same time I would have been if I were going to work, and I have to get into town on a Saturday schedule. Which should be fun. 😉

Still can’t get over the weekend. Between Kyle and the Sox with all their comebacks, I’m pretty sure I have a permanent smile on my face! I have to admit to falling asleep during the game yesterday and being awakened by screams as Papi ran out that hit to first in the 8th. It was a nice, if not jarring, way to wake up.

Clay Buchholz is supposed to pitch against Kason Gabbard today. But yesterday in Pawtucket, David Pauley was pulled from HIS start and sent to Boston “just in case” Clay ends up with the flu. Which it seems Jason Varitek has. Because there is a ‘bug’ going around the clubhouse, the lineup will be a surprise once I get to the park.

Kyle starts for the first time this season at Pawtucket at 12:05pm today. Good luck, Kyle!

For those of you who don’t know what Patriots’ Day commemorates, I give you the history teacher of a generation of children: Schoolhouse Rock. Ah, the seventies!
