I despise the phrase “pink hats” when used to describe bandwagon fans. It implies that the bandwagon fans are all women. This we know to be utter bullshit. So whenever someone uses that phrase in front of me, I make sure they know it’s something I find offensive. There are plenty of camo hats, green hats, blue hats and many, many alternate hats that penised folks wear, yet you never hear anyone bitch about those.
Personally, I don’t wear pink hats because it’s not a color I like. But I have every version of the camo hat and other alternate hats as well. And I dare you to come up to me at a game if you see me wearing one and call me a bandwagon fan.
I have a six year-old niece who is quickly becoming a big Red Sox fan. Her favorite players? Coco Crisp and David Ortiz. She can call balls and strikes and recognizes the uniforms of the other teams. She can walk in the room, look at the television and read the score AND tell you who’s pitching.
She also loves the color pink.
And when I got home from work today, she had this gift waiting for me:
She’s on vacation this week and my sister brought her to some ceramics place – and this is what she made.
God I love this kid! 🙂
Speaking of kids, Jacoby Ellsbury has gone deep twice tonight and has helped ensure David Pauley didn’t get a loss. Sox are up 6-5 at this writing (top of the seventh). Win it for all the guys on your team throwing up a lung, fellas!
