*  Crabcakes?  Still hates me.  I don’t want to hear any “He was pitching on 3 day’s rest” crap.  He was pitching on short rest the same as he pitches on his regular rest.  Like crap.

*  Craig Hansen?  Okay, he gave up a home run, but he was throwing well and looked comfortable on the mound.  Kid had a pretty good outing and he should be pleased with himself.

*  Mike Timlin?  Not as horrible as he’s been and that encourages me.  But he gave up another run tonight and still is not where we need him or where he wants to be.  I just want him to do well so much it’s tough to watch him pitch with any kind of  impartial judgment.

*  Bronson Arroyo.  There are no words.  Okay, I can find one:  Yeesh.  Didn’t even finish four innings and he gave up 10 hits and 6 runs tonight.  Reds fans booed him off the field.   It was ugly and it was sad…but damn he looked horrible out there. 🙁

*  I have to go back to Lester for a minute.  Honestly.  I need someone to tell me what the hell John Farrell sees in this kid that I can’t see.  Because all I see is a kid who puts a lot of guys on base and gives up many runs and constantly needs his defense (and offense) to bail him out.  It’s the bottom of the ninth, with two outs and the Sox are down by two…probably too late for his boys to bail him out now.  Which is fine. One loss after six wins is no big deal.  But DAMN Jon, get your act together pal.  And thank God every day that you pitch with your left arm because if you used your right one I sense you’d be sitting on the bench between Bryan Corey and Kyle Snyder right now.   And please don’t get me started about how I wanted Lester traded instead of Gabbard last year or how I’d rather see Kyle up in the bigs and Jon somewhere, anywhere, else.

*  Game over.  Sox lose.  Eh, the world keeps turning.  I just better not hear more “we have to give Jon Lester credit” like I did earlier in this game.  (I’m looking at you Remy.)

*  All in all, I won’t be going to bed cranky.  One loss can’t get me down.  But, dang, watching the team win while health issues were kicking their asses sure was fun while it lasted.  Now everyone needs to get healthy!

*  Masterson tomorrow afternoon.  Another look at more of the future of this team.  Here’s hoping HE kicks ass!
