Two blown saves in a row for Papelbon.
Yeah, he looks ‘dominant’.
Kid has issues right now. I’m not worried but you can’t blame tonight on anyone but him, right? He came in to save the game and, again, he didn’t.
Then again, how about we blame the “new Tina”, Heidi Watney? That works for me. (Hey, ever since she started, Papelbon has blown two saves. Coincidence? I think not.)
Oh well. I’m too tired to obsess on it. They’ll come back tomorrow and win. (I suspect, though, Crabcakes might just be a wee bit crabbier tonight than usual!)
Today (May 9th) marks the 19th anniversary of the death of Keith Whitley. My musical tastes run all over, but I have a special place in my heart for country music largely due to the influence of my late, native-Floridian, Grandmother. (Daytona Beach!)
She was a fan of Keith’s and she made me a fan of Keith’s and his death quieted a voice that still soothes me at times when I need it. So tonight I leave you with a song that even folks who don’t listen to country music might recognize (Alison Krauss has a fairly famous version of it, but I prefer Keith’s). I hope he’s been resting easy all these years. Sing us out, Keith.
