Currently, the Tampa Bay Rays are in first place by a full game in the AL East. The team in last place? The New York Yankees. By 4.5 games.
Sure, it’s only May 16th. Things in baseball change quickly. This time next month, the teams could totally switch places. But today? Today the Rays are the ‘best’ team in the AL East and the Yankees are the ‘worst’.
And I can’t help but smile at that.
Tonight, my friend Ted takes his first walk into Fenway Park and he’ll see Daisuke Matsuzka on the mound versus old friend Jeff Suppan.
It’s old home weekend at Fenway! Jeff Suppan, Eric Gagne, and a player who DIDN’T give Sox fans the fits: Gabe Kapler, back as Brewers. I’m excited to see Kapler. The other two? Well, not so much.
I’ll be at Fenway Friday and Saturday this weekend and then at a dance recital for Madison on Sunday. (I’ll be getting updated from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, since Kyle is starting for the PawSox Sunday at 1:30pm!) My weekend will be full and fun!
