I figure it’s safe to say hooray for the win this afternoon, totally ignoring the game at hand.
Tim Wakefield was, yet again, brilliant. Naysayers, say what you will, the guy is balls out. Does what he has to do and does it well. I don’t care who gets paid more, I don’t care who is more flashy…Tim Wakefield is the dam man.
Jonathan Papelbon and Mike Timlin had to make my stomach knot…but it wouldn’t have been a Sox game without a little drama. But Timlin got his hug from Papi and even one from Johnny Pesky. So I’m a happy chickie!
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to actually SEE the game since I was at work…but I had game day on the computer. The same game day that, at one point, had Jonathan Papelbon pitching to David Ortiz. There’s a neat trick.
I will say ONE thing about a game going on tonight. The Orioles can go sit on a tack. All of them. Show some sack, would you boys? What the heck?
Although, the good news is the score is 7-5 and Al Leiter is in there. The only thing that could be better is if Alan Embree was in there.
(I actually feel bad any time I throw a dig Embree’s way. I do. Because there is still a part of me that cares deeply about what happens to him – as well as Bellhorn – I mean after last year you don’t just stop caring about these guys…but things are what they are.)
Okay, I’ll say something else. Curt doesn’t look crappy. Given that I was absolutely pissed at him for opening his yap in the Globe today, that’s high praise.
He and Johnny need to take big doses of Shut the heck up and now. Leave all that bull for November boys…no one wants to hear it now.
Schilling strikes out Reed Johnson to end the top of the sixth. I’ll shut the heck up now. 🙂
