“I’d like to meet Curt Schilling”

So at 11 tonight I’m finally able to sit back and watch some NESN.  (S’been a long week in my ‘real life’.  Good stuff…productive stuff…but lots of sleepless nights and a little stress, so while my co-workers are out blowing off steam, I’ve holed myself up in the hotel, chilling out and watching the Matsuzaka press conference.)

Scott Boras just finished speaking.  Even with this deal done, I still want to punch him in the face.

I have three Red Bulls in me on the day and I could pass out right here.  I’m a tired chickie.  Just wanted to check in to register my pleasure at the press conference and especially the signing.  Theo looks about as happy as he has ever looked (short of 2004).

And he should.  He just proved that he’s serious about fielding a team that is built to win.   Schilling, Beckett, Papelbon and Wakefield pitching around Matsuzaka?  How insane a rotation is that??

My father had one comment on this entire affair:  "Order your World Series tickets now, Cyn".  And he isn’t a man to make a statement like that lightly.

I hope he’s right.

Man, I can’t wait until opening day!
