I got it and the Sox need it.
Even so, they gave the A’s a run for their money and took it to 11 innings before an Eric Chavez home run off of Kyle Snyder ended the game.
I was long asleep. The last play I saw was Wily Mo’s home run. It would have been nice to see Alan Embree blow the save. 🙂
No shame in this game. Sox fought hard in a game most figured they probably wouldn’t win. Their character is out there for everyone to see. They won’t give up and they bust their asses while they are out there.
We’ll get them tonight!
As Cruiser mentioned in yesterday’s comments, Jon Lester pitched a dominant 7 inning, complete game yesterday and Mike Timlin pitched two great innings (only giving up one hit). Great news from the PawSox.
On a side note, I guess Slappy’s home run off of Papelbon wasn’t the ‘home run that saved the Yankees‘, eh?
Old friend Lenny Dinardo pitches against Daisuke tonight. This is one I’m going to try and force myself to stay up for!
It’s a beautiful morning here in Boston. Nice way to start the day.
(Oops – almost forgot to shout out to Dustin Pedroia! Your American League Rookie of the Month AND Player of the Week – congrats on the well-deserved honors, Dustin!)
