I had no plans to watch the entire game. None at all. Yet, I did. I should be smacked. No way I should still be up right now. 🙂
Tonight should be interesting when I’m in Lowell for the Spinners game with the SG gang and then get home, hopefully, in time to see some of the game as well. I’m tired just thinking about it.
Crabcakes finally pitched a good game in Seattle (save for the 8th inning – but he really did a stellar job) and the Sox bats finally started to show some life on the road. Fingers crossed that they can keep it up for two more games before they head home for the Yankees series.
Michael Bowden didn’t have quite the debut for Pawtucket that I was hoping – but let’s chalk up 7 hits and 3 runs in 4 innings to jitters – he’ll come back strong next time out.
Papi kicked some butt in Portland with 2 hits and 2 rbi as well as scoring a run. Not so incidentally, the PawSox lost (4-1) and the SeaDogs won (8-2).
The Spinners site still has Kyle Snyder listed as pitching “this week” but they now have Stolmy Pimentel slated to pitch tonight. If he does pitch, it will be the third time in my three visits to Lowell that I’ve seen Stolmy pitch. My contact at the Spinner site tells me if Kyle is to pitch in Lowell it will be Tuesday night, but he wasn’t certain it was ‘definitely’ going to happen. Here’s hoping!
As we were guessing a few days ago, David Aardsma is on the 15-day dl and Justin Masterson is up in his place. NESN showed a shot of Justin sitting next to Javier Lopez in the bullpen looking a bit starstruck. 🙂 I always enjoy watching the younger guys watching the ‘veterans’. I have high hopes for the kid.
Watching Sports Desk on NESN right now. They have an award they call “Baller of the Week”. Someone couldn’t think of a better word to use than “baller”?
A win is nice. Good way to end the night (or start the morning, I suppose!).
