So I posted the message from Tru about the family of the late James Taylor Jr. This evening there is good news to report.
According to Tru:
So here is the latest…
~ Tickets are secured. Four seats, two rows directly behind the Sox On Deck Circle. Three in the adjacent Field Boxes, seven rows back from the field. This will give the boys and up close and personal view of the games and the Sox players…
~ Photos for mementos will be taken, and donated graciously by the Fabulous KellyO. Anybody who knows anything about KellyO at all, knows that Steve the Ferret is behind all of this!
~ Tour of Fenway Park for the seven people comprising the Taylor group, donated by an anonymous person…
~ The ticket guru was struck by the story of these boys and is treating the entire Taylor family to dinner at Tecce’s in Boston’s famous North End. Pray for great weather, and maybe they get to dine on the sidewalk in true style!
~ The ever incredible Brenken has networked and gotten a response “to make it happen”, with a Red Sox player (schedules pending).Cyn, it always blows me away what people are willing to do to help perfect strangers. But more than that, for me anyway, it is the central idea that the Red Sox are and remain that glue for all of us, and people will go out of their way to make things happen for others. Long before slick marketing campaigns, the notion that the people who are the fabric of all things Red Sox just plain give a damn about so much more than what we see on the field. I cannot wipe the grin off my face…
So those kids will be able to have their dad’s dream day at Fenway. It’s tragic he won’t be with them but I’m so thrilled at how many people have come together to help these kids live their dream. I’m so proud of Tru and KellyO and Brenken for being a part of this.
Thanks to all my readers who helped spread the word!
