I’ve been busy these past couple of days, but not so much today. SO I have no excuse for not writing except that I’m in lazy mode. 🙂
McCain was joined by a posse of senators – Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, Judd Gregg and John Sununu of New Hampshire, Richard Burr of North Carolina, and Sam Brownback of Kansas — but was introduced by Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, a demigod of sorts in Sox-crazed New England.
Raise your hand if you’re voting for John McCain just because Curt Schilling is and wants you to. I’m not asking if you’re voting for McCain. S’none of my business. I’m asking if you’re voting for McCain just because Curt Schilling supports him. If your hand is up, please slap yourself with it. Thank you.
I was extremely remiss in not mentioning Kevin Youkilis winning this year’s Hank Aaron Award. He certainly earned it. And since it’s partially voted on by the fans, maybe he’ll give us a little slack now, eh?
Wondering what Clay Buchholz has been up to? He’s been pitching quite well in the Arizona Fall League. Want to read quotes from him regarding his time in Arizona? Don’t ask Ian Browne of MLB.com:
Efforts to reach Buchholz in Arizona were unsuccessful.
Oh Clay. Already learning to ignore the Boston sports media. They grow up so fast!
Tim Wakefield is coming back to Boston for his 15th season. This was a no-brainer and shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but I admit I was a little concerned it might not happen. So I’m pleased this was taken care of so quickly.
Wakefield joins Josh Beckett, Lester and Daisuke Matsuzaka in Boston’s projected rotation for 2009. Clay Buchholz and Justin Masterson could also factor into the rotation.
I’m really rooting for Clay. I enjoy having Masterson in the bullpen. All we need is for Justin to repeat his 2008 performance and Clay to not repeat his 2008 and we should be good.
No word from WEEI on the contest as of yet. An email from last week indicated we’d hear from them by Wednesday. So at this point I have no idea if no news is good news, bad news, or means absolutely nothing at all. So I have that going for me. 🙂
It was a long week, it promises to be a long week upcoming (although I’m off Tuesday/Election Day – wooo!)…but I’m going to try and pick it back up here. Good news, folks. Here’s hoping for good news!
